Challenge

Quorum Services is a full-service plans review, inspection, testing and construction consulting firm, with headquarters located in Tampa, Florida. The company was not using any integrated system to manage their daily activities. This was causing them to not bill their customers for work they had done, inefficient scheduling of their inspectors as well as customer complaints due to lack of visibility on the inspection process. However, developing this application was prohibitively expensive in the US.

Solution

QS selected RDPL to develop a complete web based application. RDPL’s Indian team interacted with the QS team to understand their requirements, map processes and come up with a design that met their business objectives. The website had separate user rights and roles created for customers, Quorum employees and inspectors to view and upload information. Customers could request inspections online and every day these requests were consolidated and inspections were scheduled accordingly. This application was developed using opensource php/mysql thereby eliminating the additional licensing fees.

Benefit

Quorum Services has been able to differentiate from its competitors through the web enabled system. In addition to this, QS was able to better track the status of permits, schedule inspections and more accurately invoice their customers. Customers are now happier since they are able to view the status of their permits online. Inspectors have greater visibility as to what inspections they are supposed to do on a particular day. QS administration staff was also able to handle greater workload through improved productivity.
